Learning Through Technology
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking for ways to help my students gain and retain the knowledge that is set before them.
My students love to move, they love to read, they love to complete math work and love lots of positive attention.
All of the students that I work with have a difficult time learning new things. The OSMO game system could really help them learn new phonemic skills and mathematical skills.
My students need the OSMO gaming system to focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and word building, as well as math to explore with at Center Time or to incorporate into my one-on-one teaching times.
Technology is the key to our future and the way that a lot of my students retain their knowledge.
After observing my students using the OSMO game system in the general education classroom, I realized how much they were enjoying learning and retaining the information they are being taught.
Providing new technology into the special needs classroom would open up their minds to new and more up to date ways of learning the phonemic skills and numeracy skills.
