The Tarrant City School's Counseling Department will host our Third Annual Parent University on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4:30-7:30 P.M. at Tarrant Elementary School.  We hope to make this event bigger and better as we are opening it up to our entire school system. Our goals are to motivate and educate parents, provide employment opportunities via the Birmingham Career Center, and increase socialization between school, parents, and the community. The theme is “Homes and Schools: Cultivating Positive Relationships.” Did you know that more than 30 years of research identifies parental engagement as a key component in ensuring a child’s academic achievement?

Additionally, research shows that a successful partnership between educators and parents is one of the most crucial factors influencing the success of students in school.  Yes! Parental engagement is critical to student and school success!  Parents, family, and friends, your involvement is IMPORTANT! Please come out and show your support at our Parent University.
