My name is Tara Seay, and I am the Inclusion / Resource Specialist at Tarrant Intermediate School. I have worked as a teacher for 10 years, and 9 of those years have been spent in Tarrant City Schools. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in May 2007 in Collaborative Teaching Grades K-6 from University of Alabama at Birmingham. In August 2010, I obtained my Master's Degree of Education in Collaborative Teaching Grades K-6 also from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
For the first 7 years of my career, I was a self-contained special education teacher at Tarrant Elementary School (2008-2015) serving students with severe and profound disabilities that include Intellectual Disabilities, Multiple Disabiliies, Autism, Developmental Delay, and Orthopedic Impairment. For the last 3 years (2015-Present), I have had the pleasure of being the Resource Specialist serving students with mild to moderate disabilities that include Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Emotional Disabilities.
I believe that all students, regardless of their personal hurdles, have the ability to see success and show progress in all areas of life. When teaching children on my caseload, I take pride is seeing the whole student and his or her needs instead of just seeing the label on their Individual Education Plan (IEP). I strive to provide all students with simple things they need day to day to be successful -- not just in the educational setting, but in being a contributing citizen in today's society.
