I am Ashley Edmonds. I have taught for Tarrant City Schools for 9 years. I grew up in the Birmingham area and completed my undergraduate schooling at the University of Montevallo where I majored and recieved a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (certified K-6) in 2010. I decided to go back to school in the Fall of 2013, and completed my Masters of Science Degree in the Teaching of Reading program, with a certification Pre-K- 12th grade with Capella University. In the Spring of 2018, I decided to go back to school for Educational Leadership and am now in school at the University of West Alabama. I have taught at all three schools within the district, with a start at Tarrant Elementary in 2010 as an instructional aide. In 2011, I moved into a Second Grade teaching position at the school and remained there until I moved to the Intermediate School in 2014. While teaching at the Intermediate School, I taught 6th Grade Reading for two years then moved in 2016 to Tarrant High School, to teach Reading at the Secondary level. I absolutely love Tarrant and enjoy working with staff, parents, and students to better meet the needs of all learners in as many ways possible.
